Ghibli Park in Aichi Prefecture and the adjacent Aichi Commemorative Park (愛・地球博記念公園) will host the “Autumn Dondoko Festival” (秋のどんどこ祭り) from October 30, 2026, featuring a packed lineup of events running through late November.
Outdoor Porco Rosso Screening and Special Concert
The centerpiece of the festival is a free outdoor screening of Porco Rosso (紅の豚) at the Daishiba Hiroba Stage within Aichi Commemorative Park on November 1, 2026 — the anniversary of Ghibli Park’s opening. Gates open at 16:00, followed by a concert at 17:00 and the film screening at 17:30.
The concert will feature Kato Tokiko (加藤登紀子), who both performed the film’s theme song and voiced Madame Gina. Attendance is free, with advance registration open from September 20 at 10:00 through September 28 at 23:59. Outdoor autumn events have been a Ghibli Park tradition since the park opened in 2022.
Winter Illumination in the Witch Valley Zone
From October 30, the Witch Valley (魔女の谷) zone will launch its Winter Illumination, with extended operating hours until 19:00 on the opening day. The Mononoke no Sato (もののけの里) zone will also run a Twilight Operation, staying open with illuminations until 19:00.
Children’s Night Screening and Workshops
A new event, “Children’s Only Night Screening in Witch Valley,” will take place on October 31, 2026 (check-in from 17:30, start at 18:00). After the park closes, children will watch Witch Valley no Yoru (魔女の谷の夜) — Ghibli Park’s first original short animated film — followed by an exploration of the zone.
On November 7–8, students from fifth grade through high school can attend a workshop, “Learning Background Art from Animation Art Directors,” led by Takeshige Yoji (武重洋二), Nishikawa Yoichi (西川洋一), and Watanabe Yoichi (渡邊洋一) — all veteran art directors who have worked on numerous Studio Ghibli productions. The workshop will be held at the Earth Citizens Exchange Center in Aichi Commemorative Park.
Additional workshops include a tile café-tray making session on November 14–15 and a “Make Your Own One-of-a-Kind Totoro Plush” workshop on November 21–22, both at the same venue.
