Animate Co., Ltd. has announced a new wave of merchandise for the TV anime Gintama (銀魂), set to go on sale from August 14, 2026. A tie-in fair will launch on the same date across Animate stores nationwide in Japan and through the Animate online shop.
New Goods: “Past and Present” Theme
The new lineup centers on freshly drawn illustrations depicting characters in both their past and present forms. Products include:
- Acrylic Stands — featuring new artwork placing past and present versions of Gintoki side by side
- Korotto Acrylic Block Collection (ころっとアクリルブロックコレクション) — showcasing chibi-style character art
- Wood Tag Netsuke Collection (木札根付コレクション) — designed around character motifs
Additional items are also planned and will be revealed in due course.
Animate Fair: Past and Present (過去と現代)
The “TV Anime Gintama Animate Fair ～Past and Present～” will run in two phases:
- Phase 1 — “Past” (過去編): August 14 – September 4, 2026
- Phase 2 — “Present” (現代編): September 5 – September 27, 2026
Bonus Gift: Foil Stamp Postcards
Throughout the fair, customers who purchase or pre-order eligible Gintama merchandise worth every ¥1,100 (tax included), or any audio-visual product priced at ¥1,100 or more, will receive one foil stamp postcard (箔押しポストカード) per qualifying item.
There are 12 postcard designs in total — six for the “Past” phase and six for the “Present” phase. Designs are distributed at random and vary depending on the phase in which the purchase is made.
About Gintama
Gintama is a beloved manga series by Hideaki Sorachi, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump (Shueisha). The series has sold over 73 million copies worldwide, including digital editions. Beyond its long-running TV and theatrical anime adaptations, a live-action film series has also been produced. The spinoff anime 3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei, based on a spinoff novel, began airing on TV Tokyo in October 2025. Additionally, the new theatrical anime film Shin Gekijōban Gintama: Yoshiwara Daienjo is scheduled for release in February 2026 — a testament to the franchise’s enduring popularity more than 20 years after its debut.
