Mobile Suit Gundam and Japanese outdoor down brand NANGA have announced a special collaboration, releasing a raglan T-shirt, sweatshirt, and a second-order run of the popular RX-78-2 Gundam Shield Sleeping Bag. Pre-orders open on 7 August 2026 at 13:00 JST through the STRICT-G Online Store on Premium Bandai, closing on 16 August 2026 at 23:00 JST.

About the Brands

The Gundam franchise launched with the 1979 TV series Mobile Suit Gundam and has continued for over 45 years, spanning TV anime, films, manga, novels, games, and plastic model kits. Its hallmark is a blend of mobile suit combat with weighty themes of war, politics, and human drama.

NANGA was founded in 1941 by Akira Yokota in Shiga Prefecture, a traditional production area for Omi cotton-down futons. The brand name derives from Nanga Parbat, the Himalayan peak, and the company has built a reputation for high-quality down products.

All apparel pieces combine the NANGA logo with the Mobile Suit Gundam logo in a clean, everyday-wearable design. Two character variants are available: Gundam (RX-78-2) and Char’s Zaku II.

The sleeping bag’s down fill is processed by Kawada Feather and weighs 350 g, suitable for three seasons. The zipper features a bite-reduction component with a glow-in-the-dark function for easy operation in the dark. A single-quilt construction — stitching the outer and inner fabrics directly together — keeps weight low, while an internal tube draft collar blocks cold air from seeping through the zipper. After-sales services including repair, down top-up, and cleaning are also available.
