Story Overview

The manga is set in a Japan plagued by relentless news of brutal crimes. High schooler Rakki is rescued from a fight with a classmate by a delinquent known only as “A.” When vicious murderers referred to simply as “K” and “D” subsequently appear, Rakki is confronted with the shocking truth behind the deaths of his classmates.

Hoshikawa and Momose launched the manga in Afternoon on May 25.

More from Yūichirō Momose

In August 2025, Momose launched the Datewars project alongside character designer Hanaharu Naruko (Kamichu!, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, Kandagawa Jet Girls) and Mino as music producer, video creator, and music commentator. Billed as a “timeless music IP project,” it aims to revitalize musical styles from the 1970s through the 2000s, featuring 14 voice actresses, with plans to expand into manga, anime, mobile games, concerts, films, and stage events.

Momose also serves as the main scenario writer for King Records’ rap-themed Hypnosis Mic project, which launched in September 2017 and features voice actors rapping as original characters. The project’s first full album, Enter the Hypnosis Microphone, dropped in April 2018, and the group topped the rankings as Japan’s most popular voice actor Twitter account for 2018.
