The manga Ijimerarete Reijo, Henkyō no Iroboke Rōjin no Nochi-tsuma ni Naru Hazu ga, Bibō no Henkyōhaku-sama ni Dekiai Sareru nante Kiite imasen! (lit. “I Never Heard I’d Be Doted On by a Handsome Margrave — I Was Supposed to Become the Second Wife of a Lecherous Old Man on the Frontier!”) launched its first volume today, June 17. The manga is drawn by Shimoya Kei (霜谷佳) and is based on the original novel by Aoi Sumire (葵すみれ).
Story
Hestia is a young noblewoman who has been scorned by her own family as a “useless burden,” forced to live no differently from a servant in her own home. Her circumstances reach a new low when her family arranges for her to become the new wife of an elderly man on the frontier, rumoured to be a lecherous fool — a match that, as it turns out, arose from an unexpected misunderstanding.
Everything begins to change when Hestia reunites with Raymond, the young and strikingly handsome margrave who once saved her life. Through their renewed connection, the despair that had defined her days slowly gives way to something warmer. The series is described as a “love-and-recovery fantasy” about a wounded girl rediscovering her own worth.
