About the Anime

Keroro Gunsou is based on the manga by Mine Yoshizaki (吉崎観音), serialized in KADOKAWA’s Monthly Shonen Ace. The TV anime aired on the TV Tokyo network from April 2004 through 2011, spanning 7 seasons and 358 episodes total, produced by Sunrise.

The story follows Sergeant Keroro, a frog-like alien from planet Keron sent to conquer Earth (called “Pekopon” in the series). His invasion plan falls apart immediately when siblings Fuyuki and Natsumi Hinata discover him, and he ends up living in their house as a freeloader while waiting for another chance to strike. The comedy comes from the gap between Keroro’s would-be-conqueror status and his mundane daily life — doing household chores, obsessing over plastic model kits, and failing spectacularly at every scheme alongside his squad: Tamama, Giroro, Kururu, and Dororo. Most episodes contain two self-contained short stories, making it easy to pick up at any point.
