Japanese fashion brand MAYLA — known for its tagline “raises your body temperature by 2°C” — has unveiled the “Hikaru no Go Iconic Story Ring Object,” a six-piece ring set inspired by the beloved anime series. Pre-orders are open from October 9 at 5:00 PM through November 9 at 5:00 PM (JST).
About Hikaru no Go
Hikaru no Go is a manga written by Hotta Yumi and illustrated by Obata Takeshi, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. The story follows Shindo Hikaru, an elementary school student who becomes possessed by the spirit of Fujiwara no Sai, a genius Go player from the Heian period. Through Sai’s passion for the game and rivalry with elite young player Toya Akira, Hikaru gradually awakens his own talent for Go.
Despite centering on a board game unfamiliar to many, the series earned a massive fanbase across all ages thanks to its dynamic storytelling and compelling characters. The TV anime adaptation ran for 75 episodes from 2001 to 2003, and the franchise has since been adapted into a stage play and a live-action drama in China. The anime will mark its 25th anniversary on October 10, 2026.
