The official website for the anime adaptation of Naruki‘s manga Glasses With a Chance of Delinquent (Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun) streamed a teaser promotional video on Thursday, unveiling the series’ first cast members and confirming an April 2027 television premiere.

The anime is set to air in April 2027 on ABC TV and TV Asahi as part of their “Animazing!!!” programming block. It will also be available on ABEMA, though a streaming start date has not yet been announced.

The anime is being produced at Studio Flad and Wao World. Makoto Hoshino — known for directing DamePri Anime Caravan, Banished from the Hero’s Party, and The Little Lies We All Tell — is helming the project. Megumi Shimizu (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, Banished from the Hero’s Party, The Little Lies We All Tell) is handling series scripts, while Ruriko Watanabe (DamePri Anime Caravan, Banished from the Hero’s Party, The Little Lies We All Tell) is serving as character designer.
Story
Momose has always dreamed of a quiet, uneventful high school life — far away from delinquents and troublemakers. When she crosses paths with Ichikura, a soft-spoken, glasses-wearing boy with dark hair, he seems perfectly ordinary. The catch? Back in junior high, he was a notorious delinquent.
He insists he’s turned over a new leaf, but he’s still awfully quick to throw a punch. Has Ichikura really changed? And can Momose keep his turbulent past a secret?
About the Manga
Naruki launched the series in Kodansha‘s Bessatsu Friend magazine in January 2021. The 11th compiled volume shipped on May 13. The manga is available in English both through Kodansha’s K MANGA service digitally and via Seven Seas Entertainment, which released the seventh volume on July 14.
