Episode 39 of the TV anime 名探偵プリキュア! (Meitantei Precure!), titled “Ojamajo na Halloween♪,” aired on October 25, 2026, and immediately set the internet ablaze — climbing to the No. 1 spot on X (formerly Twitter) trends in Japan. The episode delivered a long-dreamed crossover with おジャ魔女どれみ (Ojamajo Doremi), the beloved magical-girl series that first aired in 1999.

About Meitantei Precure!

The 23rd entry in the Pretty Cure franchise, Meitantei Precure! follows Akechi Anna, a girl who, shortly after her birthday in 2027, encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is swept back in time to 1999 by a mysterious light. There she meets aspiring detective Kobayashi Mikuru and the self-proclaimed genius fairy Jet-senpai. Together they open the Kyuatto Detective Agency and transform into the Pretty Cure to recover stolen treasures from the phantom thief gang Phantom.

Episode 39: A Halloween to Remember

At Anna’s suggestion, the shopping district holds its very first Halloween event. Amid the costumed crowds, the girls meet Hinano, a young fan who adores Ojamajo Doremi and dreams of riding a broom through the sky — just like Doremi — on the handmade broom her mother crafted for her. When the villain Ageseinu, disguised as a witch, steals that precious broom, Anna and her friends must disguise themselves to pursue her without being spotted.

The Birth of “Ojamajo Precure”

Their disguise of choice? The iconic witch-apprentice outfits from Ojamajo Doremi. The lineup was perfect:

  • Anna as Harukaze Doremi
  • Mikuru as Fujiwara Hazuki
  • Kurea as Senoo Aiko
  • Ruruka as Segawa Onpu

Social media erupted with reactions: “Ojamajo Precure is SO CUTE!!!” and “This is too precious to handle…” Ruruka’s Onpu look in particular seemed to steal the most hearts.

Mashutan: The Ultimate Ojamajo Doremi Fan

Another standout moment came from Mashutan, revealed to be a hardcore Ojamajo Doremi devotee. Upon seeing the girls in their witch-apprentice costumes, Mashutan burst out with an ecstatic “Ojamajo Precure!” — drawing laughs and admiration from viewers who called the character “a true Ojamajo Doremi diehard.”

The Spell and the Roll Call

The homage went beyond costumes. The episode faithfully reproduced the iconic incantation “Pirika Pirilala Popolina Peperuto” and the classic roll call “Pretty Witchy Doremi-chi,” prompting fans to marvel at the episode’s attention to detail: “The accuracy of this Ojamajo Doremi recreation is hilarious.”

Brooms, the Couleur Poron, and a Magical Finale

The girls chase Ageseinu on flying brooms, and while they attempt to use the magic wand Couleur Poron, the absence of magic spheres leaves the spell misfiring. Nevertheless, Ruruka and Kurea shine in their broom-riding skills and help resolve the crisis. After the case is solved, four magic spheres appear before the group. Choosing to spend their one-time-use magic on Hinano, the girls make her dream come true — the young girl soars through the sky on her broom alongside the Ojamajo she loves.

A Crossover That Transcends Generations

The 1999 setting of Meitantei Precure! made this crossover feel entirely natural — and deeply meaningful. For viewers who grew up with Ojamajo Doremi, the episode was a wave of nostalgia; for today’s young Pretty Cure fans, it was an introduction to a classic. It was, in every sense, a dream collaboration across generations.
