Konica Minolta Planetaria TOKYO in the Yurakucho district has announced an immersive summer event titled Mizuki Shigeru no Yōkai Natsumatsuri: 88 no Ayashii Seiza-tachi (水木しげるの妖怪夏祭り~88のあやしい星座たち~ — “Mizuki Shigeru’s Yokai Summer Festival: 88 Suspicious Constellations”), running from July 17 to August 31, 2026.
88 Constellations Reimagined as Yokai
The event builds on the venue’s popular annual “Hoshizora Natsumatsuri” (Starry Sky Summer Festival) program, fusing it with the yokai universe created by manga legend Mizuki Shigeru, best known for GeGeGe no Kitarō. Throughout the event period, all 88 constellations projected inside the dome will be transformed into special “yokai constellations.” Photography is permitted inside the dome, allowing visitors to snap photos of the yokai appearing overhead.
Yokai-Themed Festival Games
The venue will also host two traditional Japanese summer-festival games reimagined with a yokai twist:
- Yobiko no Mato-ate — a target-throwing game themed around the yokai Yobiko
- Azuki-arai no Azuki-atsume — a bean-collecting game themed around the yokai Azuki-arai
High scorers will receive original merchandise or admission discount vouchers, and all participants will receive a Kitarō character sticker as a participation prize.
Limited Sticker Gift for All Attendees
Every ticket holder will receive one randomly selected “Yokai Seiza Sticker” — a limited-edition sticker featuring yokai disguised as one of the 12 zodiac constellations.
