The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth in Fort Worth, Texas, has announced the anime lineup for its Modern Film Festival 2026, scheduled to run from September 18 to 20. Six anime films will be screened across the three-day event.

• Children Who Chase Lost Voices — September 20, 11:30 a.m. CDT
• cocoon – One Summer of Girlhood — September 20, 2:00 p.m. CDT

Introduced by an Anime Scholar

All screenings will be introduced by Dr. Marc Hairston, one of the founding editors of the academic journal Mechademia and co-author of Cultural Guide to Anime and Manga. His involvement adds a scholarly dimension to the festival’s anime programming.

The Modern Film Festival 2026 offers anime fans in Texas and the surrounding region a rare chance to experience these titles on the big screen in the setting of a world-class art museum.
