To mark the 10th anniversary of the anime My Hero Academia (僕のヒーローアカデミア), Anique has announced an immersive virtual exhibition on VRChat titled “ヒーローたちの足跡” (Heroes’ Footsteps), opening on August 28, 2026. Alongside the exhibition, the company’s e-commerce platform Anique Shop will offer original merchandise featuring newly drawn artwork created specifically for the event.
About My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia is a superhero action manga by Kōhei Horikoshi that ran in Weekly Shonen Jump for over a decade, surpassing 100 million copies in worldwide circulation. Set in a world where roughly 80% of the population possesses superhuman abilities known as “Quirks,” the series follows Izuku Midoriya (Deku) and his classmates as they train at UA High School to become professional heroes, navigating battles, growth, and friendship along the way.
The anime adaptation launched its first season in April 2016 and concluded with its FINAL SEASON in 2025, spanning 8 seasons and 170 episodes, plus four theatrical films. The 10th anniversary project My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary kicked off in April 2026, bringing with it the special episode No.170+1 “More” — an anime adaptation of the newly drawn epilogue from the manga’s final volume — which aired in May. A special short anime, “I am a hero too”, based on a one-shot manga from an official fanbook, also began streaming on August 3.
The “Heroes’ Footsteps” VRChat Exhibition
The exhibition invites visitors to retrace the journey of their favourite heroes through virtual recreations of iconic locations from the series — from the entrance and UA High School to Deku’s very own room. Guests can walk around freely, zoom in on details, and interact with displayed items in ways only possible in a virtual space.
A dedicated shop corner within the VRChat world lets visitors inspect merchandise designs and sizes before purchasing, though actual orders are placed through Anique Shop — meaning fans who cannot attend the virtual exhibition can still buy the goods. Additional content looking back on the story across the entire series will also be available to explore. The key visual for the event is a newly drawn illustration made exclusively for this occasion.
