Manga creator Sagami Takara has launched a brand-new series titled 呪われ耳の花嫁～死神軍人の声は甘く響いて～ (Noroware Mimi no Hanayome ~Shinigami Gunjin no Koe wa Amaku Hibite~) — roughly, The Cursed-Ear Bride ~The Death-God Soldier’s Voice Rings Sweet~ — with its early-access debut on Mechacomic on August 19.
Story
The protagonist, Sanjo Hina, is the illegitimate daughter of a noble family who endures cold-hearted treatment from her relatives. On top of that, Hina bears a mysterious affliction: her ears are darkened by a curse that causes every voice she hears to sound like the roar of a monster, making daily life an ordeal.
Everything changes when she is suddenly betrothed to Tachibana Kyoya, a former soldier feared throughout the land as the “Shinigami” (Death God). Though Hina initially dreads him, she soon discovers something extraordinary — Kyoya’s voice reaches her ears not as a monster’s growl, but as something perfectly clear and pure.
As Kyoya’s quiet kindness gradually draws Hina out of her shell, the series unfolds as a Japanese-style romantic story set against a classical backdrop, blending the supernatural with tender, slow-burn romance.
