The production team behind the Psyren television anime, based on Toshiaki Iwashiro‘s manga, has released a new video confirming the show’s premiere date alongside additional cast announcements, the opening theme artist, and a new key visual.

The anime will debut on Tokyo MX and BS11 on October 4 at 11:00 p.m., followed by Sun TV later that same evening. Crunchyroll will stream the series worldwide, excluding Japan and China.

Synopsis
One day, high schooler Ageha Yoshina picks up a mysterious red phone card left behind in a public telephone booth. A few days later, his childhood friend and classmate, Sakurako Amamiya — who possessed the same card — suddenly vanishes without a trace. Searching for her, Ageha is drawn into rumors surrounding a nationwide string of mysterious disappearances, said to be the work of a secret organization known only as “Psyren.” When he makes contact with the group, a deadly game begins — one that will change his fate forever.
About the Manga
Toshiaki Iwashiro serialized Psyren in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 2007 to 2010, spanning 16 volumes. Viz Media published the complete series in English between 2011 and 2014. Producer REMOW has confirmed that the anime will adapt the manga through its conclusion.
