The production team behind summer anime Reiwa no Dara-san (令和のダラさん) has released the synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 2, “First School Visit” (初めての学校訪問), set to air on Thursday, July 9, 2026, on TOKYO MX and affiliated channels.
About Reiwa no Dara-san
The series is based on the manga by Haruomi Tomatsuка, serialized on “KadoComi” and “Niconico Manga.” It blends occult mystery with comedy in a distinctly Reiwa-era sensibility. The anime is directed by Masato Suzuki and produced by Asahi Production.

Series Synopsis
The Mizogiya family has guarded a mountain containing a strictly forbidden “cursed land” for generations. One stormy night, siblings Hinata and Kaoru venture into the forbidden zone and come face to face with Yamatagimadara (屋跨斑) — a massive, serpentine deity of calamity. Rather than flee in terror, the two casually nickname it “Dara-san” and befriend it with ease. Overwhelmed by the fearless siblings, the fearsome deity finds itself cast in the role of the straight man. Thus begins a noisy yet heartwarming story of a god with a sorrowful past and a pair of utterly free-spirited siblings.
Episode 2 Synopsis — “First School Visit”
Dara-san keeps a watchful eye on Hinata and Kaoru’s daily lives. Using the power of the “water mirror,” it peers into Kaoru’s elementary school — only to find homeroom teacher Fudeki acting suspiciously and summoning Kaoru to the student guidance room. With the curtains drawn shut, Dara-san grows alarmed that Kaoru may be walking into danger.
Broadcast Information
The series premiered on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 22:30 on TOKYO MX. It also airs on Kantele (25:45), BS Nippon TV (23:00), and AT-X (21:30) on the same date.
For streaming, dAnime Store and ABEMA carry the series with an early simulcast every Thursday at 22:00 from July 2, 2026.
