Kadokawa has revealed a new promotional video, new key visual, additional returning staff members, and an October debut for the second season of the Sasaki and Peeps (Sasaki and Pichan) television anime, based on the novels written by Buncololi with illustrations by Kantoku.
Season 2 Staff
Several crew members from the first season are stepping into new roles. Yūshi Ibe, who served as an episode and assistant director in Season 1, takes over as series director at SILVER LINK. for the new season. Fellow Season 1 episode director Yamato Ouchi moves up to assistant director.
First-season animation director Kazunori Ozawa is now handling action supervision, 2DCG designer Yūko Shintani becomes compositing director of photography, and 3D animator Tsutomu Ogasawara serves as 3D director.

About Season 1
The first season premiered in January 2024 with a one-hour special on AT-X, running for 12 episodes. It was directed by Mirai Minato (Masamune-kun’s Revenge, BOFURI) at SILVER LINK., with series scripts by Deko Akao (Higehiro, Komi Can’t Communicate) and character designs by Saori Nakashiki. Crunchyroll streamed the series across multiple regions worldwide, including an English dub.

Source Material
Kadokawa has been publishing the Sasaki and Peeps novel series since January 2021, with the 13th volume shipping on March 25. The series won both the Tankōbon and Novel categories in Takarajimasha’s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2022 rankings. Yen Press publishes the novels in English.
A manga adaptation by Pureji Osho has been running on Kadokawa’s Shōnen Ace Plus platform since 2021, with the sixth compiled volume due on June 26.
The story follows Sasaki, a weary salaryman who buys a small bird on a whim — only to discover his new pet is actually a powerful sage from another world, who grants him supernatural abilities and the power to travel between worlds. All Sasaki wants is a quiet, comfortable life, but a cast of colorful characters keeps getting in the way.
