S.H.Figuarts has announced an action figure of Kusanagi Motoko based on the new TV anime series Ghost in the Shell: THE GHOST IN THE SHELL. Pre-orders are now open via Amazon Japan, Ami Ami, Bic Camera, Yodobashi Camera, and other retailers.
About Ghost in the Shell
Ghost in the Shell is a landmark cyberpunk franchise originating from Shirow Masamune‘s manga, first published in 1989. Set in a near future where advanced cybernetics and information networks allow humans to interface directly with digital space, the series follows full-body cyborg and Public Security Section 9 commander Kusanagi Motoko as she leads an elite unit against cybercrime. The franchise has since expanded into anime, a Hollywood live-action film, video games, and more, leaving an indelible mark on creators and pop culture worldwide.
The New Anime by Science SARU
The latest entry, Ghost in the Shell: THE GHOST IN THE SHELL, is produced by Science SARU — the acclaimed studio behind Dandadan — and began airing in July. The series marks the directorial debut of Moko-chan, who previously served as assistant director on Dandadan.
