The short anime film 「しらぬひ」 (Shiranui) has unveiled its official main poster. Two videos have also been released: footage of ano, who plays the lead character Minato, during voice recording, and an interview video with ano herself.
In the recording video, ano can be seen recording dialogue with the character Ben-chan, voiced by Kana Hanazawa. In the interview video, ano discusses how she felt when she received the offer, scenes that left an impression on her, and the directing approach of director Ryo Katanosaka.
Synopsis
“Shiranui” tells the story of Minato, a 10-year-old boy living in a seaside town in Kumamoto Prefecture, and Ben-chan, a young goddess who resides in a small shrine by the beach. The two share a deep bond. Minato lives with his father, who has sunk into alcohol since Minato’s mother died when he was young, so his time with Ben-chan is his only emotional refuge. However, Minato is about to be taken to a temporary child welfare facility, and the day of their separation is drawing near.
About the Creator
Director Ryo Katanosaka is an independent filmmaker who has long created both live-action films and anime on his own while working his day job in the seafood department of a supermarket. The music is by Taro Umebayashi, known for works such as Yuri!!! on ICE, and animation production is handled by the renowned studio CoMix Wave Films.
