About the Manga
Kodama’s Ao no Hana, Utsuwa no Mori ran in Shogakukan’s Flowers magazine from March 2018 to March 2022. Shogakukan released the 10th and final compiled volume in August 2022.
Kodama’s Other Works
Kodama is also known for the nine-volume manga Sakamichi no Apollon (Kids on the Slope), which ran in Flowers from 2007 to March 2012. The series inspired a television anime on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block in April 2012 — streamed by Crunchyroll and released on home video by Sentai Filmworks in 2013 — as well as a live-action film that opened in Japan in March 2018. Shogakukan also published a one-volume spinoff, Sakamichi no Apollon: Bonus Track, in November 2012.
Kodama’s ongoing manga Wolf’s Daughter: A Werewolf’s Tale (Ōkami no Musume) has been serialized in Flowers since October 2022. Shogakukan released the 10th volume on April 10, while Seven Seas published the English edition’s third volume on April 14.
