The live-action drama Tsukiatte Agete mo Ii Kana (付き合ってあげてもいいかな), adapted from the manga by Tamifuru, has released an official preview trailer. At the same time, it was announced that the opening theme song will be “Kyakuhon” (脚本, meaning “Screenplay”), a newly written track by artist Pilaf Seijin.
Story
The series is a Girls Love story following Saruwatari Saeko and Inuzuka Miwa, two young women who begin dating after discovering they share a common trait — they both like women. As they enjoy the warmth of being in a relationship and grow closer, the two must also confront the traumas and anxieties they have each been carrying. The trailer offers glimpses of Saeko and Miwa’s first meeting, their daily life with friends in their light music club, and scenes from a live performance.
Comment from Pilaf Seijin
“I’m Pilaf Seijin, and I wrote the opening theme ‘Kyakuhon’ for Tsukiatte Agete mo Ii Kana! For this project, I read through the manga carefully from start to finish before writing the song from scratch. What struck me most was how the small differences in Saeko and Miwa’s personalities create friction between them, and how the world around them only deepens that rift. I took that itching feeling of ‘if only something were just a little different’ and transformed it into a wish to ‘write their story freely, like a movie screenplay’ — and that’s how ‘Kyakuhon’ was born. I hope listeners will try hearing it as if they were Saeko or Miwa themselves!”
