Kadokawa has announced a new promotional video, new key visual, additional cast members, theme song artists, and an official premiere date of October 4 for the television anime adaptation of Hiro Oda‘s light novel series Yowaki MAX Reijō nanoni, Ratsuwan Konyakusha-sama no Kake ni Notte Shimatta (Even Though She’s a Timid Young Lady to the Max, She Agreed to Her Shrewd Fiancé’s Bet).
Theme Songs
Konomi Suzuki performs the opening theme “Gōki MAX Sengen” (Grand MAX Declaration), while Miku Itō — who also voices the lead character — performs the ending theme “Yoake Made ni” (Before Dawn). The new promotional video previews both tracks.

The anime premieres on AT-X on October 4 at 11:30 p.m., followed by broadcasts on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, BS Asahi, and other channels the same evening. Streaming in Japan begins October 4 at 24:00 (effectively October 5 at midnight) on d Anime Store, Hulu, U-NEXT, and Anime Hōdai.
Story
The romantic comedy follows Pia, an ordinary graduate student who is reincarnated as a 10-year-old background villainess in an otome game. Knowing that the game ends with her engagement to prime minister’s son Rufus Stan being broken off and her banishment from the land, she tries to get ahead of her fate by asking Rufus to call off the engagement while they are still children. Her boldness only sparks Rufus’s curiosity, however, and he proposes a bet: he will decide whether to end the engagement after seven years.
Source Material
Oda originally published the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in January 2020. Kadokawa began releasing the light novel edition — with illustrations by Tsubasa.v — in August 2020; the seventh volume shipped in April 2024. A manga adaptation by Aji Murata has been running on Comic Walker’s Flos Comic since 2021, with its fifth compiled volume released on February 16. The overall franchise has surpassed 1.2 million copies in circulation.
