Japanese publisher Gakken announced on Wednesday that its Yuruyuru Zukan (Gentle Picture Book) children’s book series is getting a television anime adaptation. The series is slated to premiere in October as part of the Sunday programming block Animori! on TV Tokyo and five affiliated channels.
The announcement confirmed that the anime will air in a short format.
About Yuruyuru Zukan
The Yuruyuru Zukan book series launched in June 2017, positioning itself as a collection that “anyone can enjoy,” featuring cute artwork and four-panel manga strips covering even the creepier side of the animal kingdom. The books compile fun facts and trivia about a wide range of creatures — from extinct animals like dinosaurs to supernatural and urban legend beings such as Bigfoot.
