The second season of the TV anime 「帰還者の魔法は特別です」(Kikansha no Mahou wa Tokubetsu desu), also known as A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special, has been confirmed to air on Fuji TV in the +Ultra block every Wednesday at 24:45 starting in October 2026. A new teaser visual for the season has also been unveiled.
Story
The story takes place in a world invaded by another dimension known as the “Shadow World” (影の世界). Desir Arman and his companions rise up to change a doomed future. Although the world has already been destroyed once, Desir is sent back 13 years into the past, where he gathers his friends once more in order to save the world.
FLOW returns for the Season 2 opening theme
The opening theme for Season 2 will once again be performed by the band FLOW, following their work on the first season. This time, they have created a new song titled 「Sorrow」 specifically for the season. FLOW shared the following message for fans:
“Following ‘GET BACK’ from the first season, we have created the new song ‘Sorrow’ for this season. As the battles of Desir Arman and those who return from the future grow more intense, we wanted to express the kind of ‘strength’ that only those who truly know ‘sorrow’ and ‘pain’ possess. We hope everyone enjoys the song together with their story.”
Fuji TV will rebroadcast Season 1 in July
For viewers who have not yet watched the first season, Fuji TV will rebroadcast Season 1 starting on July 2, 2026, leading directly into the second season. The first episode will begin at 26:00.
