The official YouTube channel for Shinchosha’s Comic Bunch brand has released a new “special” anime promotional video for The Way of the Househusband (Gokushufudo), the manga by Kousuke Oono.
The clip features a scene that has never appeared in the manga before. It depicts Tatsu in his past as a yakuza member, storming the headquarters of a rival gang. The intense atmosphere is carried by the voices of Kenjiro Tsuda and Shizuka Ito, who reprise their roles as Tatsu and Miku, respectively, as in the anime series.
Created to Celebrate Two Special Milestones
The video was produced to commemorate two major occasions: the release of manga volume 17 and the 25th anniversary of Bunch magazine, the imprint that serializes the series.
Oono began serializing the manga on Shinchosha’s Kurage Bunch website in February 2018. In English, Viz Media publishes the series, with volume 15 having gone on sale on January 20.
Previous Adaptations
- Live-action series premiered in October 2020, followed by a six-episode sequel special in May 2022.
- Live-action film opened in Japan in June 2022.
- Anime season 1 debuted worldwide on Netflix in April 2021 with its first five episodes, followed by the second part in October 2021.
