Fans of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba have a new real-world experience to look forward to. The popular water park and hot spring resort Hakone Kowakien Yunessun has announced a special collaboration event titled Kimetsu no Yaiba × Yunessun: Hakone Onsen Tale ~Rest Among Wisteria~, running from Saturday, July 18, 2026 through Sunday, October 4, 2026. The adjacent official hotel, Hakone Hotel Kowakien, will also participate with its own exclusive content.
About Demon Slayer
Demon Slayer is an anime adaptation of the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, published by Shueisha under the Jump Comics label. The complete 23-volume series has surpassed 220 million copies in circulation worldwide. The story follows Tanjiro Kamado, a young boy whose family is slaughtered by demons, as he joins the Demon Slayer Corps in a bid to turn his demon-transformed sister Nezuko back into a human. Animated by ufotable, the series first aired in April 2019 and has since grown into a massive franchise.
The latest theatrical entry, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle Arc, Chapter 1 – Akaza Returns, opened on July 18, 2025 and recorded 27,455,968 admissions and a box office gross of ¥40.2 billion over 266 days — making it the second-highest-grossing film of all time in Japan, behind only the previous film Mugen Train.
Themed Baths and Sauna
Inside Yunessun — a swimwear-friendly hot spring water park — two special collaboration bathing areas will be introduced:
- Fujinohana no Yuba (Wisteria Flower Bath) – A bath decorated with wisteria blossoms, inspired by the “Wisteria Flower Crest House” from the series, where guests can soak surrounded by Demon Slayer Corps imagery.
- Mugen Castle Bath – A bath themed after the Infinity Castle from the latest film, evoking the fierce battle between Tanjiro, Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka, and Upper Rank Three demon Akaza.
A collaboration sauna, the Fujinohana no Jokiyoku, will host a daily special event called “Special Training”, in which Yunessun staff perform a Löyly Aufguss ceremony — a dramatic, heat-intensifying sauna ritual — all under the watchful eyes of Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui and Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, promising an experience described as “flamboyant, heating both body and soul.”
Exclusive Collaboration Hotel Room
For the first time since its opening in July 2023, Hakone Hotel Kowakien will offer a dedicated Demon Slayer Room, decorated throughout with iconic scenes and imagery from both the anime series and the films — a must-stay for any serious fan.
Limited-Edition Collaboration Tickets
To mark the event, a limited-quantity collaboration ticket bundled with exclusive original merchandise is now on sale. The goods feature newly drawn illustrations by ufotable depicting five characters enjoying their time at Hakone. Interested fans are encouraged to secure theirs early.
