The live-action drama Ima kara, Shinyuu Yameyou ka. (Should We Stop Being Best Friends Now?), based on the manga by Nitsuyama Nitsuko, has officially revealed its ending theme: “Short Cake” by singer-songwriter and vocalist Los.
Two promotional trailers have been released alongside the announcement — one featuring the opening theme “Kimi no Kaeri wo Matteru” by Second Backer, and another showcasing Los’s ending theme “Short Cake.” The production also unveiled advance stills and a synopsis for Episode 1.

“I wrote this song with the characters’ precarious sense of distance and their unspoken desires in mind. It’s a love that can’t end at simply sweet and cute — it’s slightly warped, slightly heavy. I want people to love me, messy true feelings and all. It’s a song packed with that thick, viscous feeling of being in love.”
Episode 1 Synopsis
Shibazaki Himari, a bright and straightforward 27-year-old working at a PR firm, has a secret: despite her demure appearance, she has a strong libido, and every past relationship has ended due to sexual incompatibility. As friends around her get married one by one, Himari grows increasingly anxious.
One day, she invites her long-time best friend and colleague Hojo Kazumi out for drinks to vent her frustrations. Unlike the restless Himari, Kazumi has gone years without a partner and carries an air of calm composure. But when Himari laments wanting to find someone truly compatible with her, Kazumi suddenly proposes: “Want to try it out with me?”
