About Nihon Sankoku
Nihon Sankoku is a manga by Matsuki Ikka, serialized on Shogakukan’s comic app “Manga ONE” and web comic site “Ura Sunday.” Set in a near-future Japan where nuclear war, natural disasters, and tyrannical rule have triggered a revolution and the collapse of civilization, the story follows Misuma Seiki — an unremarkable local bureaucrat — as he uses his vast knowledge and sharp tongue to rise through the ranks with the goal of reunifying the fractured nation.
With cumulative sales surpassing one million copies, the series has been adapted into a TV anime directed by Terasawa Kazuaki and produced by Studio Kafka. The cast includes Ono Kensho (Misuma Seiki), Fukuyama Jun (Asama Yoshitsune), Seto Asami (Higashimachi Koki), and Han Megumi (narrator).
