ASMIK Ace announced on Thursday a wave of new details for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Monshō Sakakibara‘s light novel Majutsu o Kiwamete Tabi ni Deta Tensei Elf, Moteamashita Jumyō de Ikeru Densetsu to Naru — known in short as Tensei Elf. The reveal includes a teaser promotional video, teaser visual, main cast members, staff, and a 2027 debut window. ASMIK Ace also announced the anime’s tentative English title: The Reincarnated Elf Left on a Journey to Master His Magic and With His Extra Lifespan Became a Living Legend.
Story
After an ordinary man’s life is cut short by a sudden accident, he is reincarnated as an elf with a lifespan of 1,000 years. Resolved to live without regrets and leave behind proof of his existence, he sets out on a journey — and along the way reunites with a young girl whose life he once saved. The series is an isekai fantasy chronicling the reincarnated elf’s travels, filled with meaningful encounters and inevitable farewells.

Source Material
Sakakibara originally launched the story on the Kakuyomu web platform in 2021. Starts Publishing released the first printed novel volume with illustrations by Hatori Kyoka in 2022.
A manga adaptation by kanco began serialization on Starts Publishing’s Novema website in May 2023 under the isekai comics label Glast COMICS, and also runs on the publisher’s newer manga platform Manga Zegra. The manga’s first compiled volume shipped in March 2024, with the sixth volume set to release on June 26.
