คีย์วิชวลภาพยนตร์ Uchu Nanchara Kotetsu-kun แสดงตัวละครหลักในชุดนักบินอวกาศ

A theatrical film adaptation of Uchu Nanchara Kotetsu-kun (宇宙なんちゃら こてつくん), the manga series by Nishimura Yuji, has been officially announced. Titled Eiga “Uchu Nanchara Kotetsu-kun”: Ukkari Detekita Uchujin wo Sagase! (“Find the Alien Who Accidentally Appeared!”), the film is set to open in Japanese cinemas on September 11, 2026. A key visual, teaser trailer, and a commemorative illustration by Nishimura have all been released.

About the Series

Uchu Nanchara Kotetsu-kun follows Kotetsu-kun, a student in the pilot department of Space Academy, as he and his friends strive toward their dream of reaching outer space. The anime series began airing on NHK Eテレ in April 2021.

Film Story

In the film, Kotetsu-kun hears a rumor that aliens exist and sets off with his academy friends to track them down — venturing into forests, caves, and possibly even space itself. The movie combines re-edited anime footage with real space-exploration footage recorded by NHK science programs and JAXA, including actual images of the Moon and Mars.

Comments from Cast and Staff

Nishimura Yuji (original creator) said he draws the manga hoping children will find space just a little more interesting, noting that space is full of wonders — for instance, it is around minus 270°C yet you wouldn’t feel cold because there is no air. He expressed great joy at the film announcement and hopes it will inspire someone to learn more about space.

Fujiwara Natsumi (Kotetsu) said she is truly happy that new adventures for Kotetsu-kun are reaching audiences as a film even years after the TV anime ended, and teased fans to look forward to discovering just who the “accidentally appeared” alien might be.

Enoki Junya (Niko) said he was surprised and delighted to hear Kotetsu-kun was returning — and as a theatrical release no less — and is glad to be voicing Niko again.

Taketatsu Ayana (Hikaru) said she was surprised by the film announcement after feeling lonely when the TV series ended, and described the movie as packed with the charm of space, enjoyable for both children and adults on the big screen.

Muro Tsuyoshi (Narrator / DAXA-kun) expressed gratitude for being welcomed back into the Nanchara world, and said his greatest goal is to hear children’s voices filling the cinema. He called on parents to bring their kids along to experience space together.

Director Tsutsui Yoshinori explained that he packed real space-exploration footage and the latest science into the curiosity-filled world of Kotetsu-kun, hoping audiences will laugh, be amazed, and feel a little closer to outer space.

Screenwriter Kato Yoichi added that Kotetsu-kun and friends will venture from forests and caves all the way to space (?), with plenty of space knowledge and real footage of the Moon and Mars along the way.

Sakuta Hazumu (TV series director) said he could not be happier to see the characters who started as a short anime now reaching the cinema screen, and revealed that he himself makes a quiet cameo — voicing a certain undisclosed character in the film.
