The production team behind TV anime 「二十世紀電氣目録 -ユーレカ・エヴリカ-」(Nijusseiki Denki Mokuroku: Eureka Evrika) has released the synopsis and scene cuts for the series’ first episode.
About the Series
The latest work from Kyoto Animation, the story is set in early-20th-century Kyoto — an alternate world where steam technology flourished but electricity never took hold. It follows the adventure of Sakamoto Kihachi, a boy grieving the loss of his older brother, and Momokawa Ineko, a girl from a sake-brewing family who carries both longing and regret for her late mother. The original novel was written by Yuki Hiroshi and published under Kyoto Animation’s KA Esuma Bunko imprint.
Episode 1: “電氣少年” (Electric Boy)
Kihachi once made a vow with his brother Seiroku to make their dreams a reality, filling a notebook called the “Nijusseiki Denki Mokuroku” (Twentieth-Century Electric Catalogue) with electrical inventions. But both his brother and the notebook were lost to war, leaving Kihachi’s dreams at a standstill. Everything changes when he has a shocking encounter with Momokawa Ineko, the daughter of a sake brewer, setting his ambitions back in motion.
Episode 1 is scheduled to broadcast and stream on July 5, 2026.

On July 5, 2026, from 20:00 to 21:00 JST, a pre-broadcast livestream will be held on the ぽにきゃん-Anime PONY CANYON YouTube channel, featuring the following cast members:

Special Tower Illuminations
As part of a collaboration with the Keihan Group, Nidec Kyoto Tower will be lit up from sunset until midnight on July 5. In the Kanto region, Yokohama Marine Tower will hold a special one-hour illumination from 19:00 to 20:00 on the same day. Both towers will be bathed in red, the series’ signature theme color.
