Studio Khara, the Japanese animation studio behind the Evangelion franchise, announced on Thursday that it will produce a dedicated sequence for the tentatively titled animated film BAAHUBALI: THE ETERNAL WAR PART 1, based on the Indian Telugu-language Baahubali franchise.

The film is a major international co-production, bringing together animation studios from India, France, the United Kingdom, and Japan. Studio Khara serves as the Japanese representative in the project.

Mahiro Maeda, a key creative contributor on Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time, is also serving as a major creative contributor on the project.

Japanese production company SlowCurve is overseeing planning and production coordination between the Japanese and international teams.
