The animated television series adaptation of the popular webtoon Hero Killer has unveiled a wave of new production details at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, including its director, a new co-production partner, and the project’s first official teaser visual.
Passion Paris Comes Aboard
French animation studio Passion Paris has joined the project as a co-producer, teaming up with Animation Digital Network (ADN) — the French animation studio and streaming platform that first announced its partnership with Jaedam Media in 2025.
David Pagaille to Direct
David Pagaille, known for directing Moonlit Bamboo Forest, has been confirmed as the director of the Hero Killer animated series.
To celebrate the announcements, the production released a new teaser visual alongside an exclusive illustration drawn by original series creators Kkulbeol and Beolkkul. The animated show’s official website and social media accounts also launched alongside the reveal.
Background
Jaedam Media first announced the animation project in October 2025, following a production agreement with ADN signed at the SPP International Content Market.

Hero Killer is an ongoing action-fantasy series on Naver Webtoon. The story centers on Lee Hwa, a young woman who swears revenge against the so-called heroes after one of them kills her sister.
