Fans of Sousou no Frieren (葬送のフリーレン) have new official merchandise to look forward to: AKROS has announced two reversible sukajan jackets — one featuring Frieren & Himmel and another featuring Aura. Pre-orders are now open via the AKROS official website and Animate Online, with sales set to begin in late July 2026.
About Sousou no Frieren
Sousou no Frieren is a manga serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday, written by Yamada Kanehito with art by Abe Tsukasa. The story is set in the aftermath of a hero’s party defeating the Demon King, following Frieren — an elven mage who has lived for over a millennium — as she embarks on a new journey and encounters new companions.
The anime’s first season aired from September 2023 to March 2024, earning widespread acclaim both domestically and internationally. Season 2, directed by Kitagawa Tomoya with Season 1 director Saito Keiichiro serving as a directing consultant, was produced by Madhouse and aired from January to March 2026. The Season 2 finale announced that Season 3, subtitled “Ougokyou-hen” (黄金郷編), is set to air in October 2027.
The Jackets: Reversible Sukajan with 3D Embroidery
Both jackets blend the world of Sousou no Frieren with the classic Japanese sukajan jacket tradition. Key features include intricate 3D raised embroidery (立体刺繍) and a reversible design that offers two distinct looks in a single garment.
Sukajan: Frieren & Himmel
- Embroidery side: The chest bears the series title logo, while the back displays the “Mage of the Hero’s Party Who Defeated the Demon King” logo alongside a work-inspired design — all rendered entirely in embroidery.
- Reversible side: The chest features a Mimic embroidery and the phrase “It’s dark, I’m scared (暗いよ、怖いよ)”, while the back showcases a vibrant full-color graphic of Frieren and Himmel applied via transfer printing.
- Special highlight: Frieren’s staff and Himmel’s sword are recreated in detailed 3D raised embroidery.
Sukajan: Aura
- Embroidery side: The chest carries the logos “One of the Seven Sages of Destruction (七崩賢の一人)” and “Aura the Guillotine (断頭台のアウラ)”, while the back features embroidered scales and horn motifs representing Azerüse, Aura’s subjugation magic.
- Reversible side: The chest is embroidered with the “Scales of Obedience (服従の天秤)” and horn motifs, while the back displays a full-color graphic of Aura the Guillotine via transfer printing.
- Special highlight: Aura’s Scales of Obedience recreated in 3D raised embroidery.
