Popular anime and manga franchise Chiikawa is joining forces with Japanese curry chain CoCo Ichibanya (CoCo壱番屋) for a special collaboration campaign titled “Cocoichi × Movie Chiikawa: Curry Daisakusen.” The campaign runs from July 16 to August 31, 2026 at CoCo Ichibanya locations across Japan (select branches excluded).
About Chiikawa
Chiikawa is a manga series by illustrator Nagano, originally published on X (formerly Twitter). It follows the everyday adventures of the earnest little Chiikawa and friends Hachiware and Usagi. Kodansha has published eight compiled volumes, and a TV anime has been airing within Fuji TV’s Mezamashi TV program since April 2022. The feature film 「映画ちいかわ 人魚の島のひみつ」 (Movie Chiikawa: The Secret of Mermaid Island) is set to open on July 24.

The centerpiece of the campaign is the 「Cocoichi × Movie Chiikawa Original Shima Curry」 — a special curry dish featuring rice shaped like an island (島盛り) topped with hire-katsu (pork fillet cutlet), with a curry sauce containing scallops and clams to evoke the sea. It comes with an original character pick and is priced at 1,100 yen (tax-included: 1,210 yen) for dine-in.
- Each order comes with one original sticker chosen randomly from four designs.
- Limited to one order per person per day; dine-in only (Mobile Order, Drive-Through, and delivery excluded).
Collab Drinks & Spoon-Rest Figures
Two limited collaboration drinks will be offered in separate phases, each priced at 450 yen (tax-included: 495 yen) per set. Every set ordered comes with one randomly selected original spoon-rest figure (four designs per phase).
- Phase 1 — Mango Lassi: A tropical, creamy mango lassi perfect for summer. Available July 16 – August 6, 2026.
- Phase 2 — Lemon Squash: A refreshing, lightly tart sparkling lemonade. Available August 7 – August 31, 2026.
Receipt Campaign — Win Original Prizes
Customers who spend 1,000 yen (tax-included) or more in a single visit can upload their receipt to the campaign website and enter a draw. Entries are accepted from July 16 through September 7, 2026.
- Prize A: Movie Chiikawa original design curry plate — 150 winners
- Prize B: CoCo Ichibanya dining voucher worth 1,000 yen — 300 winners
Free Smartphone Wallpapers & X Campaign
Scanning the QR code on in-store menus during the campaign period unlocks a free original smartphone wallpaper. Three different designs are available across three phases:
- Design 1: July 16–30
- Design 2: July 31 – August 16
- Design 3: August 17–31
CoCo Ichibanya’s official X account is also running a Follow & Repost campaign, with 50 winners receiving a limited original spoon printed with the Movie Chiikawa and CoCo Ichibanya logos.
