The production team behind the TV anime Super no Ura de Yani Suu Futari (“Two People Smoking Behind the Supermarket”) has released preview scene cuts from Episode 1, which shares its title with the series itself. The anime is based on the original manga by Jiushi.
Episode 1 Synopsis
Sasaki is a worn-out salaryman who finds his daily comfort in cigarettes and the warm customer service of Yamada, a part-timer at his local supermarket. One day, he can’t find Yamada anywhere — and to make matters worse, he can’t find a place to smoke either. Just as he’s about to give up, a peculiarly dressed young woman named Tayama approaches him and says, “You can smoke here.” That chance encounter marks the beginning of their unlikely bond.
Episode 1 begins its broadcast run on July 9, 2026.
