Story

The series follows Leen, a descendant of the “primordial witch” said to have once saved the world, who possesses the rare ability to command monsters. After crossing paths with Hakura, an adventurer who has narrowly escaped death, the two set off on a journey together. The teaser visual depicts Leen commanding her monster companions. A manga adaptation by Sato Isamu is also scheduled to launch in September.

Comments from Cast and Staff

Author Amato Dam expressed deep emotion over the announcement: “A huge dream I have fantasized about since childhood has become reality, thanks to everyone who has supported this work.” They asked fans to wait just a little longer for the new chapter of Leen and Hakura’s troublesome journey to begin.

Iwami Manaka described Leen as a character who appears self-confident and carefree on the surface, but is actually knowledgeable and dependable. She noted that while the series tackles serious themes, “the lively banter between Leen and Hakura and the comedic scenes make it a thoroughly enjoyable work.”

Kobayashi Chiaki highlighted the central role that monsters play in the story, inviting viewers to pay attention to how they shape the world’s ecosystem and how Leen and Hakura’s story intertwines with them.

Otsuka Akio, who plays Ao, said he discovered the work for the first time through the audition process and is already looking forward to it. He described the series as likely falling into the “road movie” category — a genre he particularly enjoys — and teased his role: “A veteran monster who watches over the young protagonists… doesn’t that already sound interesting?”

Director Kumano Chihiro said she wants to portray both the beauty and the cruelty of this world as “a hymn to all of nature.” Original character designer Shirabi also offered congratulations and said they are very much looking forward to seeing the characters come to life in motion.
