Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures announced on Friday that the Mamono Tsukai no Musume: Midori no Hitomi no Shōjo novel series — titled Monster Master Girl for the anime and known in English as Heir to a Monstermancer — by writer Damu Amato and illustrator Shirabii is receiving a television anime adaptation. The announcement came alongside a teaser visual and the first reveals of the main cast and staff.
Story
Veteran adventurer Hakura has survived countless ordeals, but a brutal encounter with a deadly hydra nearly claims his life. He is rescued just in time by a mysterious young woman named Leen, who possesses the rare gift of taming any monster she encounters. Feeling indebted to this unconventional monstermancer, Hakura joins her on her travels — though the two can barely go a step without bickering. What fate has brought them together, and what adventures lie ahead for this unlikely duo?

Hakuhodo DY also announced a manga adaptation by artist Yū Satō, set to launch on Drecom’s Drecomi+ manga platform in September.
Amato originally serialized the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from 2016 to 2024, and the series took the grand prize at the 2nd Drecom Media Awards. Drecom is scheduled to release the novels’ third volume on July 10.
J-Novel Club publishes the novels in English. A promotional webtoon adaptation was previously produced by MITA, Gudan, and Red Seven.
