Atlus has released two new character videos for Persona 4 Revival, its upcoming remake of the beloved 2008 role-playing game. The first video, published on Friday, shines the spotlight on the game’s protagonist, while the second, released on Sunday, features fan-favourite idol Rise Kujikawa.

In a separate announcement made on Saturday, Atlus confirmed that renowned anime studio MAPPA will be responsible for producing all of the animated cutscenes in the game — a reveal that has generated considerable excitement among the Persona fanbase.

Persona 4: A Look Back

The original Persona 4 launched on PlayStation 2 in 2008 and was later ported to PlayStation Vita in 2011 as Persona 4 Golden. The title spawned multiple spin-offs, including Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night.

The Broader Persona Series

Persona 3 Reload, the remake of Atlus’ Persona 3, launched in February 2024 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Windows and Steam. It subsequently came to Nintendo Switch 2 in October.

Persona 5 originally shipped in Japan in September 2016 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, reaching North America in April 2017. That game featured animation sequences produced by Production I.G. Its expanded edition, Persona 5 Royal, launched in Japan in October 2019, arrived in the Americas and Europe in March 2020, and received a Nintendo Switch release in October 2022.
