Manga artist Kuroto‘s one-shot Sensei wa Moto Reikan Shōjo (“My Teacher Was Once a Psychic Girl”) made its debut on Shōnen Jump+ on July 7.
Story
The story centers on Hirumi, an elementary school boy who is troubled by his unwanted sixth sense — an ability that lets him see ghosts others cannot. One day, he witnesses Teacher Yaone, a strict instructor rumored to never smile, slipping into the school’s old building, a place teeming with spirits.
Hirumi follows her inside, and when the two finally talk, Yaone confesses a secret she has kept from everyone: she was once a psychic girl herself, but her powers vanished without warning — and she desperately wants them back.
From there, the unlikely pair join forces to investigate the ghost rumors haunting the old school building. The one-shot blends supernatural mystery with lighthearted comedy as the two navigate the eerie corridors together.
