The TV anime Sayonara Lara (さよならララ) has announced a digital campaign centered on Shiga Prefecture — the series’ main setting — along with the web preview, synopsis, and advance cuts for Episode 4, which airs on July 26 at 24:30.
Shiga Shūyū Digital Rally
The campaign, officially titled “Shiga Shūyū Digital Rally — Deatta, Mada Shiranai Shiga to. —”, will run in two waves: the first beginning Thursday, August 6, 2026, and the second from Monday, September 21, 2026 through Saturday, October 31, 2026.
Participants who visit locations tied to the anime across Shiga Prefecture can unlock exclusive voice content and original AR illustrations drawn by Kinema Citrus — rewards available nowhere else.
Keihan Wrapping Train Collaboration
In a tie-up with Keihan Electric Railway, a Sayonara Lara-themed wrapping train will begin running on the Keihan Ishiyama-Sakamoto Line (京阪石山坂本線) from August 9, 2026.
Episode 4 Preview: Lara Meets Exam Season
Sayonara Lara follows Lara, a mermaid princess who once fell in love with a human prince but dissolved into sea foam when her love went unrequited — only to be reborn 200 years later at Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture, now searching for true love.
The Episode 4 web preview centers on a charming exchange between Lara and Ōtsu Mari over exam prep. When Mari asks, “Can a princess even study?” Lara confidently replies, “I’m excellent at it!” — before rattling off mermaid-specific knowledge like how to count octopus legs and how to touch sea anemones. An exasperated Mari fires back: “What about quadratic equations? This is why princesses…” The contrast between Lara’s boundless cheerfulness and Mari’s exam-induced exhaustion makes for an endearing episode.
