The stage play Chainsaw Man The Stage: Reze Arc, based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga, officially opened on July 25, 2026 at Ginga Gekijō in Tennōzu, Tokyo. Stage photos from the public dress rehearsal and comments from the cast and creative team have been released.

The released photos capture several key moments from the production: Makima pressing her ear against Denji’s chest to listen to his heartbeat, the first encounter between Denji and Reze at a public telephone booth, and the intense combat sequences featuring Bomb.

About the Production

This is the second entry in the Chainsaw Man The Stage series, following the original run in September 2023. It adapts the Reze Arc, which has also been adapted into a theatrical anime film. Two performances on July 30 will be streamed live via DMM TV, and a Blu-ray release is scheduled for February 19, 2027.

Naotake Tsuchiya (Denji)

I was truly looking forward to the curtain rising on Chainsaw Man The Stage again. Since the first run about three years ago, I’ve always wondered how certain demons and scenes would be expressed on stage. Rather than trying to surpass the first production, we’ve been working to evolve it further. I hope you’ll come experience the energy we’ve built up through rehearsals in person — both in Tokyo and Kyoto.

Yui Soma (Reze)

I’m incredibly nervous ahead of opening night. I watched the first production via streaming, and even through a screen I could feel the love and passion the company poured into it. The Reze Arc is packed with so much content — I think audiences will be surprised by just how much we’ve put in. I can’t wait to share it with everyone.

Aya Hirano (Makima)

I’m so happy to be immersed in this world again after three years. Reze is absolutely adorable in this production — I think once you see her, you’ll completely understand why. As for Makima, I find myself taking a step back and observing, almost as if I’m part of the audience myself.

Mizuki Umetsu (Hayakawa Aki)

It makes me incredibly happy to be able to live within this vast world through theatre. Beyond Reze’s charm, I’d especially like audiences to keep an eye on the Pig Devil — it only appears briefly, but the level of craft that has gone into it is remarkable.

Mahiru Koda (Power)

I’ll do my best to make sure everyone can fully enjoy the world of Chainsaw Man. Power’s entrance and presentation are different this time around, and I’ve thought carefully about how to approach it. Whether you’re a Power fan or a fan of another character, I hope you’ll pay attention!

Yutaro (Angel Devil)

I watched the first production as an audience member, so I was genuinely surprised and thrilled when I was cast. The Angel Devil is a role that draws a lot of attention in the Reze Arc, and I spent a long time figuring out how to bring it to life, with guidance from director Matsuzaki. I hope audiences will enjoy the moments where you can see the character’s emotions shift.

So Kajiwara (Beam)

I’m so happy to be playing Beam from one of my favourite works — I’m absolutely buzzing with excitement! When I watched the previous production, the direction was unlike anything I’d seen before. I’ve been reading the manga and imagining how each scene will come to life. And just so you know — Shark Beam is incredibly cute too, so please look forward to it!

Masahide Funaki (Violence Fiend)

Three years ago I appeared as part of the ensemble, but this time I’m playing the Violence Fiend. I was a little lonely without a partner at first, but I’m so glad that Himari Iwata was able to join last-minute as Higashiyama Kobeni. That kind of thing can only happen with this company, and I’m truly grateful.

Fumiya Matsuzaki (Script and Direction)

The source material is full of episodes with vivid, striking imagery, and I’ve been obsessive about every single one of them. The show runs about 95–100 minutes, and there isn’t a moment you can afford to miss. The scenes I’m most proud of directionally happen to be the ones the press wasn’t allowed to photograph — which means they’re scenes best experienced live in the theatre. I feel like we’ve created something truly wild, so whether you love Chainsaw Man, love theatre, or just want to see something exciting, please come with high expectations.
