Fans of Crayon Shin-chan have a new reason to celebrate: popular Japanese eyewear brand Zoff has announced its first-ever collaboration with the beloved anime series. The Zoff | Crayon Shin-chan eyewear collection will open for web pre-orders via the Zoff Official Online Store and select channels from 5 August 2026 at 10:00 a.m. JST, running through 2 September 2026.
A National Treasure Turns 30-Something
Originally a manga by Yoshito Usui serialised in Manga Action from 1990, Crayon Shin-chan became a TV anime in 1992 and has since grown into a multigenerational cultural institution. The series follows five-year-old Shinnosuke Nohara, his salaryman father Hiroshi, strong-willed mother Misae, infant sister Himawari, and pet dog Shiro through endless slapstick adventures. The theatrical film series launched in 1993, and its 33rd entry — Crayon Shin-chan: Kiki Kaikkai! Ora no Yokai Bake-shon — opened in cinemas in July 2026.
Three Eyewear Models, Each Full of Hidden Details
The collection features four frame styles inspired by characters from the anime. Every pair comes with a special drawn-down illustration lens cloth and an original glasses case. The three confirmed models are:
- Shin-chan Model (ZA261035_43A1) — A wearable brown Boston frame ideal for everyday use. The inner side of the temples hides illustrations of Shin-chan in various expressions. Priced at ¥7,700 (tax included, set lenses included).
- Shin-chan & Chocobi Model (ZC262005_43E1) — A brown-and-green frame inspired by the iconic Chocobi snack. The sides feature a part shaped like “Waniyama-san,” the character printed on Chocobi packaging, while the temple tips conceal a tiny Shin-chan face. Priced at ¥12,200 (tax and lenses included).
- Shin-chan & Buriburizaemon Model (ZA261036_14E1) — A bold, thick Wellington frame adorned with Buriburizaemon’s signature “nose” part. The sides feature his “Chitose Ame” candy accessory, the inner temples hide Buriburizaemon, and the tips hide Shin-chan. Priced at ¥12,200 (tax and lenses included).
