Chiikawa (ちいかわ), the beloved manga series by illustrator Nagano that began as posts on X (formerly Twitter) in 2020, is rolling out a fresh wave of merchandise in the second half of 2025, spanning sweets, character socks, cup noodles, and a 2027 wall calendar.
About Chiikawa
Chiikawa follows the daily lives of its charming cast — including Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi — through stories that are funny, bittersweet, and occasionally surprisingly intense. The franchise has won the Japan Character Grand Prix Hall of Fame and its anime, which launched in 2022, has surpassed 400 million catch-up views on YouTube. The first theatrical film, Chiikawa the Movie: Secret of the Mermaid Island, adapting the fan-favourite “Siren Arc,” opened in cinemas on 24 July.

Chiikawa Strawberry Chocolate & Caramel Sweets
The Chiikawa Strawberry Chocolate features strawberry confectionery soaked in white chocolate, while the Chiikawa Caramel offers a soft, tooth-friendly chew. Both will go on sale gradually at Chiikawa Land stores and tourist souvenir shops.
Four New Sock Designs (Size 23–25 cm)
Available from 5 August 2025 at Chiikawa Land locations, Chiikawa Market, Don Quijote, and general retailers nationwide, the new socks come in four patterns:
- Usagi Goggle — Usagi sporting a tightly fitted pair of goggles
- Momonaga & Yoroi-san Fumi! — the flying squirrel character stepping on Yoroi-san’s foot
- Hachiware Chip Chap — Hachiware submerged in a soy-sauce-like liquid
- Chiikawa Neteiru? (Sleeping?) — Chiikawa caught half-awake mid-slumber
Charumera Chiikawa Ramen – Tonkotsu Flavour
Myojo Foods is expanding its Charumera mini cup noodle collaboration with Chiikawa by introducing a new tonkotsu (pork bone broth) flavour. The packaging features the Chiikawa characters with their hair neatly tied up, and the broth delivers the gentle, comforting tonkotsu taste the Charumera brand is known for. It launches on 14 September 2025 at supermarkets, drug stores, and other retailers across Japan (availability may vary by location).
Chiikawa Calendar 2027
Each monthly page of this wall calendar greets fans with oversized, adorable big-face illustrations of Chiikawa, Hachiware, Usagi, and their friends. The bottom edge features a cute die-cut frill design. It goes on sale from 13 October 2025 via Amazon and other online retailers.
