新劇場版 銀魂 -吉原大炎上- (Shin Gekijōban Gintama: Yoshiwara Daienjo), based on the manga by Hideaki Sorachi, is heading back to cinemas across Japan on September 25, 2026. The re-release carries the new subtitle ＜超炎上版＞ (Chō Enjō-ban) and features a substantial visual overhaul of the original February theatrical run.
What’s New in the Chō Enjō-ban
The story remains unchanged: Gintoki Sakata and his allies fight to reunite a young boy with the mother he was separated from, battling their way through the underground pleasure district of Yoshiwara Tōgenkyō. However, the production team has refined more than 200 cuts, polishing character expressions, textures, action sequences, camerawork, and lighting to deliver a sharper, more immersive experience.
Attendees can also look forward to three consecutive weeks of exclusive entry gifts. Further details on participating theaters and the gift lineup will be announced at a later date.
Stage Greeting — September 26, 2026
To mark the Chō Enjō-ban release, a special stage greeting will be held at Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo on September 26, 2026, with screenings at 9:00 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. Tickets are priced at ¥2,300 and will go on sale via lottery from August 31 at noon.
