Square Enix has kicked off its summer bookstore event, “2026 Natsu Comippa” (2026夏コミッパ), at 1,845 participating bookstores across Japan.
What Is Comippa?
“Comippa” — short for Comics Party — is a biannual event Square Enix holds every summer and winter. Participating bookstores create dedicated display corners for Square Enix magazines and manga volumes, then compete in a store-decoration contest. Photos of each store’s display are posted on the dedicated website Komiweb (こみうぇぶ) throughout the event period. Standout entries earn a Comippa Award, with the top prize being the King of Bookstores ★ Grand Comippa Award.
Free Gift: 8 Clear Bookmark Designs
Customers who purchase any Square Enix magazine or manga volume at a participating store during the event period will receive a clear bookmark as a free gift. Eight designs are available, one for each of the following titles:
- Yomi no Tsugai (黄泉のツガイ)
- Koi to Yobu ni wa Sasayaka desu ga (恋と呼ぶにはささやかですが)
- Supa no Ura de Yani Suu Futari (スーパーの裏でヤニ吸うふたり)
- Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (薬屋のひとりごと)
- Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun (地縛少年花子くん)
- Youkai Gakkou no Sensei Hajimemashita! (妖怪学校の先生はじめました！)
- Haimiya Senpai wa Kowakute Kawaii (灰宮先輩は怖くてかわいい)
- Kakegurui (賭ケグルイ)
Free Previews on Komiweb
Alongside the in-store campaign, the Komiweb site is hosting free preview chapters for 17 recommended Square Enix titles, including Yomi no Tsugai, Koi to Yobu ni wa Sasayaka desu ga, Supa no Ura de Yani Suu Futari, Ryuu to Chameleon (龍とカメレオン), and Tachinom Izakaya de Kuudere Dauner-kei Joshidaisei ga Tonari ni Kuru Hanashi (立ち飲み居酒屋でクーデレダウナー系女子大生が隣に来る話), among others.
