The production team behind the television anime adaptation of Koneko Hoshitsuki‘s light novel series The Villager of Level 999 (Level 999 no Murabito) has announced two additional cast members. Both will make their first appearances in the anime’s eighth episode, airing next Thursday.

The anime is produced at Brains Base under the direction of Yoshinobu Kasai, known for 180-Byō de Kimi no Mimi o Shiawase ni Dekiru ka? and Aru Asa Dummy Head Mike ni Natteita Ore-kun no Jinsei. Shinzō Fujita (The World Is Still Beautiful, To Your Eternity) handles series composition, while Kentarō Matsumoto (D-Frag!, Grimms Notes the Animation, In/Spectre) is responsible for character design. Music is composed by Hiroshi Nakamura.
Story
Set in a sword-and-sorcery world called Earthqualia, the series follows Koji Kagami, a young man born into the lowly “villager” class — yet somehow boasting a level of 999. After a chance encounter with Alice, the demon lord’s daughter, the two set out together to find a way for humans and demons to peacefully coexist.
Source Material
Hoshitsuki originally serialized the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from July to December 2018, with a side story following in 2019. Kadokawa published the first print volume with illustrations by fuumi in May 2016; the series concluded with its eighth volume in January 2019.
A manga adaptation by Kenichi Iwamoto has been running in Kadokawa’s Comp Ace magazine since May 2017. The 21st compiled volume was released on July 23.
