The official anime website has announced that the second season of Skip to Loafer will be titled Skip to Loafer 2nd Season and is scheduled to begin broadcasting in April 2027. The announcement was accompanied by a teaser PV, new key artwork, and comments from the two lead voice actors.
About the Series
Skip to Loafer is based on the manga by Takamatsu Misaki, serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon. The story follows Iwakura Mitsumi, a 15-year-old girl who moves alone from rural Japan to Tokyo after earning the top entrance exam score at a prestigious high school. Academically gifted but socially a little off-beat, Mitsumi’s natural sincerity gently draws out the individuality of her colorful classmates.
The 2nd Season picks up roughly half a year after Mitsumi’s high school debut — continuing from the 2023 TV anime — as she and classmates including Shima Sousuke navigate new friendships, upperclassmen, underclassmen, and the changing seasons. The teaser PV depicts the characters’ school life as autumn arrives.
New Key Art and Campaign
Character designer and chief animation director Umeshita Manami contributed new key art showing Mitsumi and Sousuke holding flowers, capturing the series’ signature warm atmosphere.
To celebrate the broadcast date announcement, the official anime X account (@skip_and_loafer) is running a postcard giveaway campaign. Users who follow the account and repost the designated post will be entered into a lottery for one of 50 postcard prizes.
