The official website for the Skip and Loafer television anime, based on Misaki Takamatsu‘s manga, has released a teaser video announcing that the show’s second season will debut in April 2027.
Returning Staff at P.A. Works
Kotomi Deai (known for directing Natsume’s Book of Friends) returns to direct and oversee the series scripts, joined once again by first-season scriptwriter Yōko Yonaiyama in the same capacity. Manami Umeshita (Stella Women’s Academy, High School Division Class C3) is back as character designer and chief animation director, alongside returning chief animation directors Reina Igawa and Yūsuke Inoue, the latter having served as animation director on the first season.

Story
Diligent student Iwakura Mitsumi has always dreamed of leaving her small hometown, attending a prestigious university, and making a positive impact on the world. But when she arrives at a Tokyo high school, the overwhelming pace of city life catches her off guard. She soon befriends Shima Sousuke, a handsome and easygoing classmate who is everything she is not — and together they navigate the challenges of life in the big city.
About the Manga
Takamatsu launched the manga in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine in August 2018. It ranked #7 in manga for male readers in the 2020 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook, and received nominations in both the 13th Manga Taisho awards and Kodansha’s 44th annual Manga Awards in 2020. A stage musical adaptation ran in Tokyo and Osaka in March 2026.
The first anime season premiered in April 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in English in both digital and print formats.
