Horror manga legend Junji Ito has announced the very first collaboration between his iconic series Tomie and Universal Studios Japan (USJ). The partnership will be showcased at USJ’s annual autumn event, Halloween Horror Night, running from September 11 to November 8.

Original Artwork by Junji Ito

At the heart of the collaboration is a brand-new illustration drawn exclusively by Junji Ito himself. The artwork depicts Tomie dressed in a matching school uniform alongside the high school zombies from USJ’s “Street Zombie” attraction, flashing her signature unsettling smile as she strides through the park at the head of a massive zombie horde. The piece also features a special line of dialogue written specifically for this collaboration — a detail fans will not want to overlook.

Collaboration Merchandise

The exclusive collab lineup uses the new artwork across a range of products, including:

  • T-shirts
  • Key chains
  • And more

All items will be available for purchase at USJ during the Halloween Horror Night event period.

Junji Ito’s Comment

“Congratulations to USJ on its 25th anniversary. I’ve visited the park many times with my family over the years — the fun commentary and shark thrills on the Jaws boat tour, the heart-pounding dinosaurs roaming the subtropical forest in the Jurassic Park area, and the excitement I shared with my children in the Harry Potter zone. I am truly honored to have Tomie be part of this 25th anniversary milestone, and I wish USJ continued success and growth going forward!”

Marking the first time Tomie has officially entered the world of a major theme park, this collaboration is sure to be a highlight of USJ’s Halloween Horror Night for horror fans everywhere.
