Voice actor Murase Ayumu (村瀬歩) has announced his graduation from the role of Himeno Kanon (姫野かのん) in THE IDOLM@STER SideM. The announcement was made on August 18 through his personal agency, Aster Nine.
A Mutual, Amicable Decision After Over a Decade
According to the statement, the decision was reached through discussions between both parties “with an eye toward the future of the character and the work,” and was described as an amicable graduation. Murase expressed his heartfelt gratitude, stating that he was deeply thankful for having been involved with THE IDOLM@STER SideM for over ten years and for the opportunity to voice Himeno Kanon.
On the same day, the official THE IDOLM@STER account confirmed the cast change, noting that a new voice actor will join the unit Mofumofu-en (もふもふえん). Details on the new cast will be announced at a later date, with the team asking fans to “warmly welcome the new member.”

THE IDOLM@STER SideM launched in July 2014 as a “Dramatic Idol Training Game” built around the concept of “There’s a reason — and that reason is becoming an idol!” It was the first title in the Idolmaster franchise to feature male idol production. Players take on the role of a producer at 315 Production, guiding a diverse roster of male idols — including former doctors, freelancers, and self-defense force members — toward stardom. The franchise has expanded well beyond the game itself, encompassing merchandise, music, live events, and radio programs.
Himeno Kanon is a former child model who belongs to the kids idol unit Mofumofu-en, alongside Tachibana Shiro (CV: Furuhata Keisuke) and Okamura Nao (CV: Yano Shogo).
Voice Usage During the Transition Period
Existing voice content already available in sections such as “315 Production Episode” will not be replaced immediately, though some audio may be swapped out in future updates. Murase will continue to voice Himeno Kanon for certain performances in THE IDOLM@STER SideM ～P@SSION CHALLENGE We are 315！～ MONTHLY THEME SONG 10 Mofumofu-en and the live event THE IDOLM@STER SideM 11th STAGE ～EVER EVER＠FTER～. A full transition schedule and further information about the new cast will be shared at a later date.
